DEQ set to explain Louisiana air quality improvements

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is scheduled to highlight air quality improvements across the state during a news conference on Wednesday.

Officials are expected to explain what they say are great strides being taken with Louisiana's chemical industry.

They also reportedly will talk about headway being made to keep the air breathed in the state that much cleaner.

Gov. Bobby Jindal has proclaimed May as Air Quality Awareness Month.

The news conference will be held in Baton Rouge at 2 p.m.
