ASCENSION PARISH, LA (WAFB) - The search continues for a man who is accused of killing his wife and 12-year-old son on April 17, 2014.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office reported Ronald Green Sr., 44, called an unidentified woman around 2 a.m. on April 17 and told her that he killed his wife and son and planned to jump off a bridge over the Mississippi River.

When deputies got to the home of Green's wife and son, they found the front door glass shattered. Deputies immediately went inside and found 40-year-old Dewona Green and 12-year-old Ronald Green Jr. were found shot to death in a bedroom.

Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Tony Bacala says his investigators are still searching for Green's body near Veterans Memorial Bridge on the Mississippi River. Authorities say that's where they found Green's vehicle after the murders.

Detectives believe that it is most likely that Green followed through on his stated intention to jump from the bridge, but are pursuing the case as though he is still alive.

Detectives are monitoring his financial accounts for any possible activity, but none of his accounts have been used to date, added Lt. Col. Webre.

Deputies from Ascension, St. John the Baptist and Livingston parishes are using boats and helicopters to continue to search the Mississippi River for Green.
