BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A 60-year-old Baton Rouge man has been charged with aggravated rape and sexual battery of a mentally handicapped man.

These charges come after police were contacted by a member of the Greater Fellowship Outreach program. They assist a 27-year-old male with personal hygiene and transportation to adult daycare. The victim has been diagnosed as being moderately mentally handicapped.

A witness called the Greater Fellowship Outreach saying they saw Larry Johnson with the 27-year-old in the backyard of the victim's home. The witness told police they saw the assault happen and when it was over, Johnson allowed the victim to look inside a plastic shopping bag and the victim rummaged through it.

The probable cause report says "the witness often gives the victim, whom is like a child, treats and such as he is often overjoyed to receive such items."

Johnson was arrested and taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he is awaiting bond.
