Deputies said the series of events began with an armed robbery at Section Road A G Supermarket in Erwinville. They reported four men walked into the convenience store and demanded money.

Investigators said the suspects collected an undisclosed amount of cash and left in a car. However, deputies learned of the crime and started following a car similar to the one described by witnesses.

WBRSO said the car then sped off down US 190, but the driver lost control just before the Huey P. Long Bridge (Old Bridge) in Port Allen. Officials said the car flipped several times and ended up on its roof.

The four men were arrested and investigators said the stolen cash was recovered.

A list of the charges was not provided.
