Escapee walked out of interview at Sheriff's office after arrest

ST. MARY PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office is searching for a man wanted for simple escape.

According to information from the Sheriff's Office, 25-year-old Chad Williams was arrested on warrants for illegal possession of stolen things after deputies investigated a complaint that he stole jewelry and sold it at a local pawn shop.

During the interview with Williams on Tuesday, deputies say he walked out of the building. He was last seen wearing a brown polo style shirt and dark blue jeans.

Williams is now also wanted on a warrant for theft by fraud and simple escape.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Williams may contact the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office or their local law enforcement authorities.
