Man accused of cashing stolen checks

GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

Police are asking for the public's help with finding a man wanted for bank fraud and theft.

The Gonzales Police Department is looking for Christopher Marsland, 43.

Investigators said he cashed two stolen checks on April 1.

They added the checks were both cashed at Capitol One Bank, but different branches.

Police said one stolen check was cashed in Gonzales and the other in Baton Rouge.

They said he showed the clerk a West Virginia driver's license, but he is believed to be in the Baton Rouge area.

They also believe he may be homeless.

Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
