BEDICO, LA (WAFB) - Investigators are looking for one man accused of stealing checks from a business and another man suspected of trying to cash one of those stolen checks.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reported a man walked into Bedico Tire posing as a customer on April 18 and placed an order for a set of tires.
According to Sheriff Daniel Edwards, when the worker walked away from the counter, the man reached over and grabbed several business checks. He added the suspect then ran out of the store.
Deputies said a little while after the checks were stolen, a man they believe to be an accomplice walked into First NBC Bank in Ponchatoula and tried to cash a fake check from Bedico Tire. They added the check was for $2,900.
They released two surveillance pictures in hopes the public can help to identify the suspects.
Anyone who recognizes the men or have any information about the crimes is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-554-5245.
