LAFAYETTE, LA (WAFB) - A man wanted for a murder that happened in New Orleans in January was arrested at a home in Lafayette Monday.

The Lafayette City Marshal's Office says they received information that Leroy Price was hiding out in a home in the 100 block of Arizona Street in Lafayette.

Deputies set surveillance on the house and saw two individuals leave the house and get into a vehicle and drive off. The deputies pulled the vehicle over.

The Lafayette City Marshall's Office reports that Price gave the deputies a false name and the photo did not match the man in the SUV. He was arrested and told deputies that his name was Leroy Andrew Price.

The New Orleans murder happened on January 13, 2014.

Price was booked in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and is being held until he can be transported to New Orleans.
