HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) - A homeowner who was plowing a field Tuesday afternoon in Tangipahoa Parish called the Sheriff's Office Tuesday after finding what they believed to be human remains on the property.
Deputies and detectives arrived at the home on N. Brickyard Road in Hammond, LA and began collecting evidence and a preliminary investigation began.
The homeowner reported that they saw what looked like human skeleton bones lying on the ground.
The Louisiana State Police and the LSU Faces Laboratory are processing all evidence collected from the scene.
The LSU Faces Laboratory is a facility that conducts advanced research in the fields of Physical and Forensic Anthropology. They also provide a public service to law enforcement agencies through assistance with the recovery and identification of human remains.
