CROCKETT, TX (KTRE) -

A 22-year-old Crockett man is now facing a felony assaulting a public servant charge after he allegedly threw urine at a male detention officer at the Houston County Jail Tuesday.

According to Chief Deputy G.P. Shearer of the Houston County Sheriff's Office, Vincent Johnson was already in custody for three misdemeanor charges - disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, and criminal trespass when the incident allegedly occurred Tuesday.

Shearer said Johnson was in a separation cell. During meal time, a detention officer with the jail walked by the cell, and opened a small door to send food through to Johnson. Johnson allegedly used a cup to throw urine on the detention officer, getting the liquid in the officer's mouth and eyes.

The jailer will have to undergo testing to see whether or not he has contracted any diseases, Shearer said.
