Metro Council set to discuss traffic light system, annexation

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Metro Council will be tackling a number of important issues at Wednesday night's meeting.

Council members will discuss matters from improving traffic throughout the Capital City to the annexation of two major money makers.

They will be talking about a new traffic light system that would sync lights on College Drive and Perkins Road, as well as a possible new Burbank Drive and Highland Road cut-through.

Leaders are also set to vote on a petition to officially place Celtic Media and Costco within the city limits.

It's a decision leaders of the St. George movement said could force them to shut down fire departments in the proposed city.
