BAKER, LA (WAFB) - A Parent and Youth Summit will be held Saturday, April 26 in Baker to discuss crime, parental concerns, and other issues affecting the community.
The meeting will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library Branch in Baker, 3501 Groom Road.
The summit will feature local ministers, elected officials, parents and other community leaders. Topics will include parenting and social media, single moms' survival guide, the power of fathers, and talking with your kids about drugs and alcohol among other things.
"This is an opportunity for the parents and their children to come together as a family unit and receive valuable community resources and tools they can use for successful living", says Organizer Naisha Cooper.
