Baton Rouge Police compete in canine competition

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Baton Rouge Police K-9 Division recently placed first overall in the Patrol dogs competition as part of the annual United States Police Canine Region 10 Field Trials. Multiple local law enforcement agencies competed in the three-day competition which was held Friday, April 18.

Baton Rouge Police officers obtained the following awards:

Patrol dogs

1st place overall (Top Dog) - Kirt Allen and K-9 Omega

3rd place overall - Jesse Barcelona and K-9 Gino

4th place overall - Wayne Martin and K-9 Bam-Bam

5th place overall - Lyle Andre and K-9 Ranger

Mark Beck Sportsmanship Award

Scott Montgomery and K-9 Gunner

Obedience

1st place - Wayne Martin and K-9 Bam-Bam

Agility

2nd place - TJ Morse and K-9 Tag

Scent Work

2nd place - Wayne Martin and K-9 Bam-Bam

3rd place - Lyle Andre and K-9 Ranger

Criminal Apprehension

1st place - Jessie Barcelona and K-9 Gino

2nd place - Lyle Andre and K-9 Ranger

3rd place - Roderick Woodard and K-9 Kane

Narcotics Search

2nd place overall - John Ford and K-9 Jago

2nd place indoor search - John Ford and K-9 Jag

Explosives Search

5th place overall - Scott Bowman and K-9 Prada

Outdoor Search
