Sheriff's office looking for person of interest in Hammond armed robbery

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards is asking for your assistance in identifying a person of interest in an armed robbery that occurred on March 24 at the Texaco Station in Pumpkin Center.

At approximately 9:14 p.m., a small black four-door sedan pulled up and parked next to a female as she was pumping gas. A black male then exited the car holding a handgun. He attempted to force the woman into her pickup truck. The victim resisted and ran away. The gunman took her vehicle and fled the scene.

On March 26, the victim's vehicle was recovered on Coburn Road off of Old Covington Highway.

This man was observed in the Texaco station approximately 20 minutes prior to the alleged incident. He also arrived and left in a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's vehicle.
