Coast Guard rescues injured men from NOAA vessel

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) - The US Coast Guard rescued two men from a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) vessel in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday.

Officials said it happened in rough seas 264 miles southwest of New Orleans.

One crew member had a dislocated shoulder, while the other severed the tip of his finger.

They were hoisted into the Coast Guard helicopter and flown to a hospCoaital for treatment.
