Ceremony remembers kamikaze attack on USS Kidd

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - An assembly met at the USS Kidd earlier on Friday to remember the anniversary of a deadly kamikaze attack on the ship during World War II.

At exactly 1:55 p.m., a ceremony was held on the ship to remember the 38 people killed in that attacks. At the exact same time on April 11th back in 1945, a single Japanese plane came crashing through the hull of the USS Kidd of the coast of Okinawa.

Nearly 60 other people were injured in the attack.
