Woman charged with attempted murder for allegedly firing gun during street fight

A 25-year-old woman was arrested and charged for attempted murder after she allegedly fired a gun during a street fight.

According to the Probable Cause report, the incident happened on March 17, 2014 at roughly 2:30 p.m. The victim told police that she was involved in an altercation with the suspect, Kena Lanae Perry. The victim claims the two have known each other for 6 months.

"The victim advised that she and the defendant had an argument over a third party," the officer noted in the report. "The victim advised that the defendant attacked her in front of her house."

The two women became involved in a fist fight, but when the victim attempted to walk away, Perry allegedly pulled out a gun and began shooting.

"The victim advised that the defendant went to her car and pulled out a handgun and started firing it at her," the officer noted.

The victim was not injured during the alleged shooting incident.

Perry was located on Thursday, April 10. She was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder, simple criminal damage to property, and illegal use of a weapon. She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
