Police identify suspect in stabbing outside bar

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police have named a suspect wanted for a stabbing outside a bar that left a man badly wounded.

The Baton rouge Police Department is looking for Vyron Carter, 46. The stabbing happened outside a lounge on North Acadian Thruway West in Baton Rouge on March 30.

Investigators said a 32-year-old man was stabbed in the chest just before 1 a.m. They added the object barely missing the victim's heart.

Carter is described as 5'11" and weighs about 170 pounds. He is wanted for attempted second-degree murder.

He is a convicted felon. He has served at least 10 years in prison on drug charges (possession with intent to distribute cocaine).

He has a slew of prior arrests that include, but are not limited to: felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated battery, armed robbery, second-degree kidnapping, felony theft, attempted second-degree murder and violation of probation.

All of the warrants were issued within East Baton Rouge Parish. The earliest charge goes back to 1988.
