EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Joshua Trey Lugo, 23, has been arrested in connection with the LSU McDonald's theft last month.
Lugo is the seventh felony arrest and LSU has also made two misdemeanor arrests previously in the case so this brings the total number of arrests to nine, according to Capt. Cory Lalonde with the LSU Police Department.
The employees were arrested for allegedly overcharging cards issued to students and pocketing the difference at the McDonald's inside the LSU Student Union.
The investigation began in October 2013 after a worker in LSU Auxiliary Services provided information to detectives about thefts to the Tiger Cards used by students. The managers at the restaurant found discrepancies in the transactions.
Lugo faces one count of felony theft for more than $1,500.
