Sheriff's office looking for suspect who stole $1,600 in electronics from Walmart

PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) -

The West Baton Rouge Sheriff's office is searching for a White male suspect who allegedly stole more than $1,600 in electronics from Walmart in Port Allen.

Police say the suspect took two Samsung Galaxy tablets and an iPad. He arrived at the store at 9:05 p.m. on April 1 in an orange and rust-colored pickup truck. Officials say the suspect opened a locked showcase and took the items. He went to the automotive section and concealed the electronics in a box of speakers and then went to the self checkout counter and paid for the speakers. After paying, he left the store.

The suspect is described as a white male, medium build, approximately 180 to 200 pounds and between 5 foot 8 inches and 6 foot tall.
