BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man was arrested on vehicular homicide, DWI and other charges after a deadly motorcycle crash Monday evening.

The victim was identified as Dana Scott, 44, of Baton Rouge.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said Calvin Moore, 43, of Baton Rouge, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of vehicular homicide, DWI, reckless operation and failure to yield on a left turn. Bond has not been set.

The crash happened in the 3700 block of Evangeline Street around 7:30 p.m.

Investigators reported Scott was headed east on Evangeline on a 2012 Suzuki motorcycle when a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Moore was going west and tried to make a left turn onto Maple Street. They added the truck hit the motorcycle and Scott was thrown off of it.

According to reports, officers detected alcohol on Moore's breath and officials said he admitted to drinking. Police said a breath test showed a blood alcohol content on .126 percent. The legal limit in Louisiana is .08 percent.
