BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A federal judge has decided that the billboard that criticizes Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal can stay where it is.
The billboard is along I-10 near the Lobdell exit.
It was put up by MoveOn.org. The national watch-dog group claims the Governor is denying 242,000 people Medicaid. The sign uses the slogan "pick your passion," which is the state's current tourism promo campaign.
Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne felt it could be damaging to his efforts to promote Louisiana.
Judge Shelly D. Dick of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana issued a ruling in Dardenne v MoveOn rejecting the state of Louisiana's attempt to force MoveOn.org to take down the billboard.
In her ruling, Judge Dick concluded, "the Lieutenant Governor underestimates the intelligence and reasonableness of people viewing the billboard."
