Students compete for spot in National Geographic Bee

EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) -

In a game-show style competition, ten Louisiana students have struggled through advanced geography questions Friday seeking a spot in the National Geographic Bee.

The last student standing was 14-year-old Benjamin Link of New Orleans who reigns as the state champion after correctly identifying the origin of certain aqueducts and the location of a Basque Whaling community.

He'll now compete in May against students nationwide for a chance to win $50,000.

Our own Jay Grymes was a judge at the competition.
