PRAIRIEVILLE, LA (WAFB) - Several people pitched tents and lined up for hours, some more than a day, for the latest Chick-fil-A opening in Louisiana and a chance to win a yearlong prize.
Company officials said fans from nine states lined up outside the new location on Airline Highway near Prairieville, some for more than 24 hours, to get free chicken sandwiches for a year.
The first 100 customers will receive coupons for free Chick-fil-A meals for a year. The line reached that many people around 7 p.m.
The winners will be woken up around 6 a.m. and given their coupons, along with other free gear.
Organizers also collected money for the Baton Rouge Food Bank.
The store will open for business at 6:30 a.m.
