Construction is starting to take shape at Juban Crossing

LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WAFB) - Juban Crossing on I-12 in Livingston Parish is starting to take shape.

Construction is underway on Rouses Market, the 55,000 square foot grocery store, and the 74,000 square foot Belk department store.

"After the years of preparation and build up, it's exciting to see our vision take shape in reality," said Stephen Keller, a principal in Creekstone Companies which is developing the $350 million shopping center which includes a movie theater and restaurants. "Our team is working seven-day weeks in order to deliver on our promise to the people of this parish and across south Louisiana a premier shopping, dining and working destination."

Other retailers who are slated to join the mix include Academy, Lane Bryant, Old Navy, PetSmart, Ross, Shoe Carnival, TJ Maxx, Ulta and the Movie Tavern, a new concept for the Baton Rouge area. Southern Theater, owner of the 11-screen, 46,000-square-foot, 1,089-seat theater, is bringing the dine-in movie concept to Juban, offering an in-theatre dining experience featuring first-run movies combined with a wide range of chef prepared menu selections.

The project will be built in three phases. The first phase is expected to open later this year.
