DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) - A community mourning the loss of a teenager killed in cold blood held a candlelight vigil Tuesday night.
The vigil was in remembrance of 19-year-old Darrelle Woods of Denham Springs. His body was found near a vacant building at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and East Street. Detectives say someone shot him and left him there to die.
Family and friends say he was a nice guy and they don't understand why someone would want to kill him.
"It's a horrible feeling ya know, knowing that there's someone in this world that would do something cold-hearted," says Patrick Cox, Wood's brother. "But I'll say it's a good feeling to see all that's come out, the friends I love, are out supporting us through this tragedy. But You know, I can't be mad, can't be sad, just pray to the Lord that we get some justice. "
