Police search for suspects that used cinder block to rob grocery store

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Police have released pictures of two men who injured a grocery store employee during a robbery early Tuesday morning in hopes the public can help to identify them.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said the armed robbery happened at Adams Grocery on North Acadian Thruway West around 3 a.m.

Investigators said one worker was hit in the face with a cinder block while he was unlocking the door to let another worker out of the store. They added two suspects made their way inside, snatched money from the register and grabbed other items before leaving.

The injured employee was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition was not released.

The first suspect is described as 5'8" with a medium build and dark complexion. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket with dark pants.

The second suspect is also 5'8" with a medium build and dark complexion. He also had on a dark-colored hooded jacket, but wore white jogging pants with dark stripes.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the armed robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
