Baton Rouge band advances in worldwide battle of the bands competition

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge-based Gillis Silo Band moving on to the next round in a worldwide battle of the bands.

The country group beating out more than 70 other bands from across the state in Hard Rock Cafe's "Hard Rock Rising" competition. They move on now to face bands from around the world.

"We competed against very talented musicians throughout this entire competition," Caleb Paul, frontman for The Gillis Silo, said. "All us are extremely grateful for the opportunity that we have been given.  The competition is far from over and I know we will be up against some of the top talents from across the globe, but we have the best supporters in the world and they will help us succeed in the next round of voting."

Fans can vote for the Gillis Silo Band starting April 28. You can also get a free song by downloading the Hard Rock Rising app on your smartphones. Each download counts as one vote.
