BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Seven people were arrested in connection to the investigation of a 12-year-old girl being raped over a period of time. Of those seven, six were indicted by a grand jury Wednesday afternoon.
In November, 38-year-old, registered sex offender Ivy Martin was arrested after being accused of raping the girl on multiple occasions. Reports say that it happened on a weekly basis and he was involved in introducing the others involved to the child.
Arthur L. Jones, 55, Michael Sherbin, 35, Brandon Edwards, 26, Jessica Carr, 22, and Jerome Jackson, 39, have been indicted on the sex charges.
The child's mother was issued a summons for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Her identity was not released to protect the child.
Hillar Moore told WAFB that in reviewing the case, the details were so disturbing that he had to walk out of the room.
