FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA (WSFA) -

The AUM baseball team took the series against conference rival, Emmanuel, after splitting a doubleheader on Saturday.

The Warhawks won the first game on Saturday by a score of 7-3, and dropped the series finale 17-16. This is the third consecutive SSAC series win for AUM.

Chad Reeves won his third consecutive conference start, giving up only four hits and recording four strike outs. All three of Emmanuel's runs were unearned.

Blake Bearden led the offense, finishing 3-for-3 with a walk, run scored and three RBI. Lance Wilson had two hits and scored a run.

In game two of the doubleheader, Emmanuel scored eight runs in the bottom of the first and was up 12-0 after four innings. The Warhawks made a valiant comeback in the final five innings, but fell one run short.

Bearden led the offense once again, hitting home runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth inning. Bryan Young also had a two-run home run in the game.

Pitcher Daniel Farrar was pegged with the loss for the Warhawks, allowing seven runs in 1/3 of an inning. Britt Wilson, Chance Hicks, Jacob Gibson and P.J. Leto also pitched for AUM.

The Warhawks take on Reinhardt in another doubleheader on Wednesday starting at 2 p.m.
