BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A LaPlace, LA man was arrested early Sunday morning on charges of third offense DWI and child endangerment. Police reports say there were three children between the ages of 10 and 12 in the vehicle with him.
According to the probable cause report, Lee Millen Russell, 42, was driving 75 mph in a 60 mph zone on I-12 in Baton Rouge around 1:30 a.m. When Russell was pulled over, reports say he had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person, was slurring his speech, had glassy, blood shot eyes and was swaying.
Reports say Russell refused the field sobriety test. He also refused a breath, blood and urine test.
The probable cause also says Russell has been arrested for DWI since 2011.
He was arrested on third offense DWI, child endangerment, speeding and reckless operation.
Russell has been released from the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a $26,000 bond.
