Police say man shot on Joseph Street is expected to survive

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A man who was shot this morning is undergoing surgery and is expected to survive, according to Baton Rouge police.

Officials say the shooting happened on Joseph Street in Baton Rouge just before noon. The victim was shot in the groin.

No arrests have been made, but police say they are questioning one person.

One woman says she saw the whole thing.

"I saw the guy who shot him," said Margaret Williams. "They was in the back, then they ran around the front to the porch and we heard a shot. The guy that did the shooting took off running."

The incident is still under investigation.
