BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Hundreds were left without power late Wednesday night into Thursday morning after authorities say a pickup hit an 18-wheeler, forcing it off the road and into a utility pole.

The crash left about 300 customers without power. Just before of 10 a.m., Entergy's website indicated electricity had been restored from this crash.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said it happened on Plank Road near the exit ramp from I-110 South just before 11 p.m.

Cpl. Don Coppola with BRPD reported the tractor trailer was headed south in the right lane when an F-250 truck "came from an unknown direction" and slammed into the big rig.

He added the impact of the crash sent the semi off the road, where it then knocked down a power pole. He also said the collision sent the pickup into a parked car at a nearby gas station.

According to police, one of the drivers was taken to the hospital. The person's injuries were not life-threatening.

It is unknown if any charges were filed in this crash.
