BAKER, LA (WAFB) - A driver was issued citations after a train that was slowly backing up early Wednesday morning was hit by a truck.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said it happened on Thomas Road near LA 19 in Baker shortly before 5 a.m.
EBRSO spokesperson Casey Rayborn Hicks reported the train was only going about 3 mph when the sixth car of the train was hit by a 2008 Chevrolet pickup.
No injuries were reported.
The driver was cited for careless operation, failure to yield at a railroad crossing and expired motor vehicle inspection. The man's name was not released.
Hicks said the man told investigators he didn't see the train. The damage to the truck was significant enough that it could not be driven and had to be towed.
