BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Area Chamber, or BRAC, released their results showing the confidence levels of many parents is low for school leaders in East Baton Rouge Parish.
BRAC says the main issue for the St. George and Baton Rouge split conversation is education and that's why they're trying to pinpoint the exact issues through this report.
The focus groups anonymously gauged parents of public and non-public school children in east Baton Rouge parish to figure out their next move.
"We see it necessary that there be legislation this legislative session to address the EBR school District governance in response to a lot of community concerns about desires for local control, desires for community schools and not feeling like enough change is happening fast enough to arrive at that," said Adam Knapp with Baton Rouge Area Chamber.
BRAC would still like to hear from you. BRAC plans to propose legislation by the end of this month for this current session.
