Man wanted for abuse and theft surrenders to police

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police said a fugitive wanted by Crime Stoppers has turned himself in to authorities.

Keondre White, 22, of Baton Rouge, faces charges of domestic abuse aggravated assault, domestic abuse battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and simple burglary of a vehicle.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said he turned himself in to detectives Monday afternoon. His bond is set at $19,500.

According to reports, White and a woman got into an argument on May 15, 2013, which then escalated into violence. White is accused of hitting the woman in the face, which left her bruised and swollen. He also allegedly pulled out a gun and threatened to kill her.

Investigators said about three months later, surveillance cameras captured White backing up to another vehicle, going into the trunk and taking a laptop computer. It happened on Aug. 30, 2013.
