LSU slips to No. 7, UL-L moves up to No. 6 in this week's poll

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - After losing this weekend's series to Vanderbilt, LSU has slipped from number 3 to number 7 in this week's Collegiate Baseball Top 30.

The Tigers remain at number 8 in Baseball America's Top 25.

LSU beat Nicholls State 5-3 and Southern 8-0 before traveling to Nashville. LSU won the first game against the Commodores 4-2, but lost a doubleheader on Saturday 5-3 and 9-3.

LSU fell to 17-4 overall and 1-2 in league play. The Tigers play host to South Alabama at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field before resuming SEC action with a home series against Georgia beginning on Friday.

The sixth-ranked Ragin' Cajuns (17-2) baseball team beat ULM 21-2 in the series finale to complete the sweep and win their seventh straight game Sunday at Warhawk Field.

UL-L is ranked number 5 in this week's Baseball America Poll.
