MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

One man was wounded and another was arrested following a shooting at a nail salon in Mesa.

There was a large police presence at Elite Nail Salon at Power Road and McKellips where the gunfire erupted Saturday afternoon.

Police detectives said the shooter, identified as Dan Tran, of Mesa, was a former employee. Police said he quit his job and had to stop by to pick up some of his materials.

When Tran left the salon, he met another employee, Tam Pham, 28, of Mesa, outside the salon and that's where things got heated, officers said. An argument started, followed by gunfire.

Officers won't say what the argument was over, Pham is expected to survive. He's now recovering in the hospital.

"You can see there's a lot of crime scene tape up and several witnesses that we're trying to talk to and find out more about what the relationship might have been between these two and what the bad blood would've been to cause this shooting," said Mesa police detective Steve Berry.

Tran was booked into jail on one count of aggravated assault, three counts of disorderly conduct with a weapon and one count of reckless discharge of a weapon.
