LSU hosting Special Olympics Indoor Games this weekend

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The opening ceremony of the State Indoor Games for Special Olympics happened tonight at LSU's Student Union.

It began at 7:00 p.m., and it included a parade of athletes and the lighting of the Olympic Flame of Hope.

The games will be happening all weekend across Baton Rouge. The athletes will compete in basketball, bowling, and tennis competitions all weekend. All of the competitions and the games officially wrap up Sunday night at Broadmoor High School.
