A look ahead for Saturday

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

A pro-life group plans a prayer rally outside a Huntsville women's clinic starting Saturday. The group made up of dozens of churches says Saturday's event will kick off 40 days of prayer for the closure of the facility that provides abortions.

The mayors of Huntsville and Madison will hold a news conference Saturday afternoon to detail a major phase of road work on Old Madison Pike. They'll discuss the work that will close a 3,000 foot section of Old Madison Pike. It will be closed for construction beginning Monday, March 10. The project targets improvements from Jan Davis Drive to Slaughter Road and will include a new four-lane roadway, bridges, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, and a new greenway parking area.

The City of Huntsville will host the second annual Community Kite Festival Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Jaycees Building and surrounding area, John Hunt Park, Airport Road. The Ribbon Cutting and Opening Ceremony begins at 10:45 a.m.
