Man faces meth charges after traffic stop

PATTERSON, LA (WAFB) - Authorities said a man was arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop turned up two bags of meth in the car he was driving.

Joshua Dinger, 29, of Morgan City, was booked into the parish jail on the following charges Thursday night:

Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Introduction of contraband into a penal institution

Violation of driving on a roadway laned for traffic

No bond is set.

Narcotics detectives reported while they were patrolling US 90 in the Patterson area, they saw a car cross the center line and pulled it over.

They said they found bags of meth with a street value of about $8,700, a digital scale and items used to package meth.

According to SMPSO, Dinger was taken to the parish jail for processing and while he was being searched during booking, a capsule containing meth was found on him.
