BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The Baton Rouge Blues Fest is one of the oldest, free blues festivals in the country, and a third stage will highlight the lineup for the April 12th event.

The expanding stage will include a gospel/soul stage on Lafayette Street at the Shaw Center.

This year's event is also twice as big as last year. Dr. John and the Nite Trippers, Naomi Shelton and the Gospel Queens are among the many performers set to entertain.

The Baton Rouge Blues Fest is free and open to everyone. The fest is from 11 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. on April 12th in Downtown Baton Rouge.
