BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Are you wondering what to do with all of your left over Mardi Gras beads? How about donating them to a good cause?
Every year the ARC Baton Rouge collects Mardi Gras beads of all shapes and sizes. The ARC is an organization that helps kids and adults with developmental disabilities.
Their clients then sort and resell the beads to raise money for the program.
Officials with ARC say the big St. Patrick's Day parade is coming up and orders for green and white beads are already coming in.
ARC sells the beads for 80 cents per pound.
You can drop off beads at two locations: 2808 Dallas Drive and 3950 Prescott Road.
They accept donations all year long.
