Ribbon cutting marks end of S. Harrell's Ferry Rd. and O'Neal Ln expansions

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Mayor Kip Holden marked the official end of one of the parish's largest road construction projects.

The project cost is around $30.5 million, and included the expansion of South Harrell's Ferry Road and O'Neal Lane, as well as raised medians, new sidewalks, new drainage and a raised roadway at Knox Branch Crossing.

Next up for the parish Green Light Plan is the O'Neal improvements phase - that's clearing land to prepare for road and bridge construction on O'Neal from South Harrell's Ferry to George O'Neal Road.

The parish will start getting construction bids for this project later this year.
