FLORENCE, AZ (CBS5) -

A 27-year-old Oracle man was arrested on several domestic violence-related charges after a fight in which authorities said a woman suffered several injuries.

Saul Lionel Villa was arrested after he turned himself in to Pinal County sheriff's deputies Monday, two days after the alleged assault.

A nurse at Oro Valley Hospital called the sheriff's office about 3:10 a.m. Saturday to report a 31-year-old woman was being treated for injuries suffered during an assault.

The woman said she and Villa had spent the evening drinking at an Oracle bar, got into an argument and left just after midnight, a PCSO spokesman said.

She said they continued to argue at her home and that he assaulted her. She said he grabbed a handgun and they fought over it before he grabbed it away and struck her in the head with the gun.

She claimed Villa began to choke her, stopped and began to load a rifle magazine with ammunition, which allowed her to run into her bedroom, escape through a window and call a family member to take her to the hospital, the spokesman said.

The woman suffered a cut on her head and showed other signs of physical abuse, the spokesman said.

Deputies were unable to find Villa until he walked into the PCSO headquarters.

He was booked into the Pinal County Jail on four counts of aggravated assault, one count of kidnapping, one count of disorderly conduct with a firearm, one count of tampering with evidence and one count of threatening and intimidating.
