BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Baton Rouge Police and deputies with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office are searching for the driver of a stolen vehicle who crashed into a vehicle and led police on a chase in Baton Rouge.

The chase began just after 1 p.m. in the Park Forest/Coursey Blvd. area after an officer located the stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver never pulled over and sped away from the officer. The driver then made a sudden U-turn and hit a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle sped off and according to officials, disobeyed several traffic laws. The officer lost sight of the stolen vehicle. No one was injured in the hit and run crash.

Officers eventually found the stolen vehicle in an apartment complex near the intersection of Hickory Ridge Blvd. and Coursey Blvd.

K-9 officers have been called in to help search for the man who ran from the vehicle.
