BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - There are some startling statistics about a Baton Rouge neighborhood that were recently released by a national website.
Neighborhoodscout.com reported the Melrose East area around North Lobdell Avenue and Harry Drive ranked No. 25 on the list of most dangerous neighborhoods in America.
The report states the chances of becoming a victim of crime in that community is one in 15.
The exclusive data used to come up with the statistics were taken from FBI information collected from 17,000 law enforcement agencies in America.
The neighborhoods in the report have the highest predicted rates of violent crime per 1,000 residents.
The Conti Street area in New Orleans ranks No. 12 on the most dangerous list.
