Waste Management set to replace diesel-fueled trucks with natural gas ones

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Changes are on the way for one company that will help clean up the air in Baton Rouge.

Waste Management officials announced Thursday they'll be replacing their diesel-fueled trucks with ones that run on natural gas.

Baton Rouge is currently meeting EPA clean air standards, but Waste Management said this change will mean a huge difference in the amount of gas emissions released in past years.

The initial conversion will involve 40 large trucks and that number will expand over the next few years.
