SCAM ALERT: Jury duty call asking for personal information

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Authorities warn that an old scam that could compromise your identity is popping up again.

Here's how it works: The scammer calls you claiming you missed jury duty. To make sure they're calling the right person, they ask for your address and Social Security number.

Court officials say they never ask for that information over the phone.

If you get a call from someone claiming they need that information, hang up and report it to the Sheriff's office.
