BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge man was arrested for a crime that occurred almost a year ago. Police say he, along with his accomplices, beat a victim before robbing the victim of a cell phone.
According to the probable cause report, the incident happened last year on April 13, 2013. The report reveals that Nathaniel Royal Jr., 33, and several others armed themselves with sticks and a 2x4 board. Then, they chased the victim down and began to beat the victim before taking a Samsung phone valued at approximately $500.
The group then fled the scene on foot with the stolen item.
Later, authorities say the victim was able to identify Royal in a line up. Royal was arrested and charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery.
His bond is set at $65,000.
